Why Indian satellite launches take place in day time only?
Hello guys i am here to answer your frequently asked question openheartedly about Rocket|Rocket Launch| Schedule a rocketlaunch|Spacecraft/Satellite launch|
- Mission control waiting for command?
- Copy that! mission control initiating command for launch.Report Tower, weather, test ground condition.
- All procedure Starts.
- Payload:-Go
- Navigation communication:Go
- Program anatomy:Go
- Mission control:We are going for launch
What a exiting moment is that to watch Right?
There are a lot of factors which determine a launch schedule, I mean lots of factors..- First thing they will be looking is the Target of the mission for which it is set for... It may vary depending sometimes it could be transferring cargo supply for International Space Station (ISS) or Placing a satellite up in an orbit.. yeah! you probably know target in case of satellites may vary hugely depending on application from LEO (Low earth orbit) to GEO ( Geo-Stationary earth orbit) or also called Geo-synchronous equatorial orbit..or even upper than that..
- Moving on, other thing they would be looking is Type of rocket and trajectory, all these different factors come into play and affect a launch window.
- Even the amount of time that they have to launch having a eye on other parameters to avoid unexpected clash.
- Finally before DAY or TWO of launch happens that's the time they will be closely monitoring WEATHER which becomes the major major factor for scheduling a rocket launch. We also have some examples where launch is slided a day or two for just avoiding a bad weather.
- So by this you can conclude unfortunately you can't request for a launch to be moved so that you can see it.
Interested in knowing some facts of "chandrayaan 2 launch" check it out!

Coming on to this question: Why Indian satellite launches take place in day time only? Probably I guess you know that whether it may be a Satellite,Rocket or a Space-craft launch it's one and the same..
I think you can get it in these simple points:- check it out!
FACTORS THAT DETERMINE THE LAUNCH TIME are:-
- Objective of the mission
- Orbit
- Power(Solar)
- Visibility pattern and so on..
Launch can take place based on above factors any time.
Again coming to your question "Why Indian satellite launches take place in day time only?"
- This is not true, most of our Indian launches takes place in day but not ALL the launches you see will be day time only.
- Why? Because most of our ISRO mission undergone is mainly placing a satellite to respective orbit based on its application.
- Examples of night launch is also available, saying this i would also like to share a schedule of our own Chandrayaan 2.
- Initially the launch was scheduled on 15th july 2019 at 2:51hrs (AM) but was called off due to a technical snag which was noticed before an hour of launch..later on it was rescheduled to 22 july of 2019.
- So be this you got a idea with a example of night launch also being scheduled too..
